His Internal Ministry- The Pertinence of the Holy Spirit – Giving Worthy Gifts

Unlike the #fruit of the #Spirit, which all #Believers get in full, the #gifts of the Spirit are given individually to Believers at the Lord’s discretion. What are the dangers of over or under emphasizing the gifts of the Holy Spirit? What does the presence of the Holy Spirit indicate about the status of a Christian? Does everyone who puts the Lord in charge of their life receive at least one of these worthy gifts? Why does Paul say that he doesn’t want us to be ignorant about these things? Who decides what gift we receive? Who decides when and where it will be used? And who gives that gift power? Who receives a gift and who is supposed to benefit from it? Estimates of the different gifts vary but, Brother Tommy believed there were twenty and he broke that down further into ten work gifts and ten word gifts which we will cover in the next two weeks (Lord willing). How do these gifts compare to natural abilities? Why should we not compare our gifts with those of others? How can we discover our gift and increase it? Why does the love chapter appear right in the middle of the discussion of gifts?

What are some examples of the Holy Spirit’s work in the Old Testament? Who do you think gave the prophets advance information about the Messiah beforehand? How did Jesus Christ come into this World or incarnated? Was Jesus helped throughout His ministry by the Holy Spirit? How about His death and resurrection? Can we also tap into that power?

The same thing happens in our daily walk as we make decisions about life choices based on the flavor of the day. We need to find strength from the strong! How? You say.. Turn to the Living God – the Strong Source! Ps.24:8 “The LORD STRONG and MIGHTY in BATTLE” Ps.93:1 “LORD is clothed with STRENGTH” Ps.68:35 “GOD of Israel Himself gives STRENGTH and POWER to the people” Isaiah 26:4 “Lord Jehovah is everlasting STRENGTH” (that’s not the energizer bunny) Prov. 10:15 “a rich man’s wealth is his strong city” 1Cor.1:25 “GOD is STRONGER than MAN” Ps. 27:1 “the LORD is the STRENGTH OF MY LIFE” Ps.140:7 “LORD IS THE STRENGTH OF MY SALVATION”

#Exercise is constantly mentioned for benefiting our #health, #strength, and #well-being. Whether we choose the latest strength developing gadgets, weights, stair climbers, treadmills or sport drinks, it seems they all work to stretch, extend, lunge. squat and hydrate. I had never equated the LORD with EXERCISE; however, as I was reading Jeremiah 10:24….”I AM THE LORD WHO EXERCISES LOVINGKINDNESS, JUSTICE, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS ON EARTH; for I delight in these things.’ declares the LORD.” Ps.36:5-9 “Thy LOVINGKINDNESS, O LORD extends to the heavens. Thy FAITHFULNESS reaches to the skies. Thy RIGHTEOUSNESS is like the mountains of God. Thy JUDGEMENTS are like a great deep. O Lord thou preservest man and beast how precious is Thy lovingkindness…They drink their fill of the abundance of Thy house; and Thou dost give them to drink of the river of Thy delights.
