#Trust and #obey for there’s no other way to be #happy in #Jesus. That’s a line from an old hymn we used to sing all the time. These days, we are being asked to obey a lot of sources, sometimes conflicting. If you are in sync with God’s law , you will not be in conflict with man’s law except when those man made laws are immoral. But, what does the Bible say about obedience? Should we obey out of fear or love? Which of these has a more consistent outcome? Can it be both? What does Paul mean when he tells the Philippians to ‘work out’ their salvation with fear and trembling? Hint: think miner. Also, fear of what?

Biblical Basis For Missions – Old Testament Scriptures

Some people mistakenly believe that #Jesus Christ and the #Gospel are not mentioned in the Old Testament, just the New. There is a great book by #JosephFarah called ’The Gospel in Every Book of the Old Testament that deals with this in greater detail. But, in this message Brother Tommy will take us through a brief journey of examples of this in the Old Testament. How does the Bible develop the basis for missions in the Old Testament? It uses the law, history, poetry, and prophecy mixed together in various amounts to achieve this purpose. Are there also examples of the deployment of the Gospel there as well? How is missions like a stream?

Ethics Regarding Situation

How are our #ethics shaped by the situation in which we find ourselves? Should each situation have an effect on our ethics? What are the purposes of situational ethics? What are the dangers? What is the ‘Pure Principle of Love?’ Did Jesus ever set aside the law in favor of a person? Did Christ come to destroy the law or fulfill it? What is wrong with a theory based on the exception rather than the rule? What happens when there are no absolutes? I would like to remind you that this message was delivered in 1980 and it is more true today than when it was first delivered.

What are your #ethics? Have they changed over time? Should ethics be set and never changing or should they be more fluid? What is wrong with looking at other people’s behavior for our standards? When did theology get taken out of the study of ethics? Why is it important to look at the Bible when talking about ethics and morality? What does our relationship with God and our fellow man have to do with ethics? What are the three types of law given in Exodus? Was God trying to keep us from enjoying life with these laws? What other books in the Old Testament contain ethical lessons? What can we learn about our responsibilities from the Old Testament?
