Where is #truth during the #turmoil permeating #America today? For such a time as this, I turn to God’s Word, The #Bible. “Turn us again, O Lord of hosts, cause Thy face to shine and we shall be saved” Ps.80:7 “O God do not keep silent, or still, nor hold thy peace for Thy enemies make a tumult and they that hate Thee have lifted up the head taking crafty counsel against Thy people and consulted hidden ones. They said, ‘Come let’s cut them off from being a nation….consulting together with one consent – they are a confederate against Thee. . . Who said, Take to ourselves the houses of God in possession’ …O my God, make them as stubble under the wheel before the wind…who perished & became as waste of the earth. Persecute them with Thy strange wind and make them afraid with thy storm. Fill their faces with shame: so they may seek thy name, O Lord. Let them be confounded and troubled and perish that men may know that Thou whose name alone is #JEHOVAH are the the most high over all the earth” Psalms 83 . . .I pray now “My soul longs, yes, even faints for the COURTS OF THE LORD: my flesh cries out for THE LIVING GOD.” Ps.84:2

How are our #ethics shaped by the situation in which we find ourselves? Should each situation have an effect on our ethics? What are the purposes of situational ethics? What are the dangers? What is the ‘Pure Principle of Love?’ Did Jesus ever set aside the law in favor of a person? Did Christ come to destroy the law or fulfill it? What is wrong with a theory based on the exception rather than the rule? What happens when there are no absolutes? I would like to remind you that this message was delivered in 1980 and it is more true today than when it was first delivered.

Next week we will start to look at what the Bible says about tangible ethics of an honorable nature.

The LIVING GOD #EXERCISES

#Exercise is constantly mentioned for benefiting our #health, #strength, and #well-being. Whether we choose the latest strength developing gadgets, weights, stair climbers, treadmills or sport drinks, it seems they all work to stretch, extend, lunge. squat and hydrate. I had never equated the LORD with EXERCISE; however, as I was reading Jeremiah 10:24….”I AM THE LORD WHO EXERCISES LOVINGKINDNESS, JUSTICE, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS ON EARTH; for I delight in these things.’ declares the LORD.” Ps.36:5-9 “Thy LOVINGKINDNESS, O LORD extends to the heavens. Thy FAITHFULNESS reaches to the skies. Thy RIGHTEOUSNESS is like the mountains of God. Thy JUDGEMENTS are like a great deep. O Lord thou preservest man and beast how precious is Thy lovingkindness…They drink their fill of the abundance of Thy house; and Thou dost give them to drink of the river of Thy delights. For with Thee is the fountain of life in Thy light we see light. O continue Thy LOVINGKINDNESS to those who know Thee, and Thy RIGHTEOUSNESS to the upright in heart. Let not the foot of pride come upon me. And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away. There the doers of iniquity have fallen; They have been thrust down and cannot rise.” “Do you not know: Have you not heard?
