Suddenly #No #Power in your #surroundings! We are all having more setbacks caused by power #outages whether it is no #electricity, #gas, #water, #food, #internet or #leadership. Where is your power source? Have you not known? Isaiah 40 tells all….”Understand from the foundations of the earth that it is the LORD who sits upon the circle of the earth …and brings princes to nothing and makes the judges of the earth as vanity….HE shall blow upon them and they shall wither being taken away as stubble. Lift up your eyes on high and behold the LORD who has created all things and can bring out the hosts in great number whom He calls all names by the greatness of His Might, for GOD IS STRONG IN POWER. Have you not heard? The Everlasting GOD, The LORD, the CREATOR of the ends of the earth – faints not..The LIVING GOD GIVES POWER to the FAINT and INCREASES THEIR STRENGTH. Even the young shall utterly fall, but THEY WHO WAIT UPON THE LORD SHALL RENEW THEIR STRENGTH.” The Living God is our “Power, Light, Water, Bread, Fortress, Victor, & Redeemer.” God’s supply never fails!

Last week, we heard about #Jesus multiplying bread to #feed over five thousand #followers. This week, we find out that Christ is the bread that satisfies eternally. Do we have to buy or earn the bread? How then do we internalize Christ? What less than satisfactory alternatives do people try to fill their lives? Is bread satisfying when promised in the future or do we need it daily right now? If we ate as much or sadly as little as we read the Bible and pray, how healthy would we be?

I have heard of stretching a #budget or scrounging together ingredients to make a #meal, but only one man could satisfactorily #feed a crowd of 5000 plus with five loaves of bread and two fishes. Jesus Christ did that with baskets of leftovers. The people he fed would not have starved without this food. So, why would the Savior create sustenance for so many at this time? Was there any hesitance from the disciples? How about assistance? Did Jesus need the boy’s lunch to perform this miracle? Why did Jesus make enough to have leftovers? Next week, God willing, the connection between Christ and the bread.

Have you ever been to a #restaurant that served #bread before the meal, and it was so good you just had to eat there again #cheddarbiscuits? Is there a better bread, one that gives eternal life? Now I am not saying communion saves your soul. But, rather the sacrifice represented by this sacrament makes it possible to be forgiven. What do the elements represent? What should communion mean to us? What is our part in this ceremony and what is God’s part?
