Last week, we learned what it means to be a #Christian. This week, we find out what happens to one who starts this journey only to turn back. Picture a boat on a river trying to go upstream. When it stops going forward does it stand still? The world has told us many times to follow your heart, but is that good advice? What voice do we ignore in the middle of turning back? How good are we at rationalizing our own actions? Where are our interests refocused when this happens? Can we constantly turn our backs on God and expect no consequences? What can we do to halt our backward momentum?

Do you have a #measuring rod – #tape measure – #yard stick? If you plan to build or reconstruct a structure, you need proper measurements. I have a back porch deck built with pressure treated wood that was only a few years old when it started to dry rot. After contacting the lumber company, they replaced the wood. Then I had to secure at least three bids for the job. Finding the right contractor to rebuild the deck is a matter of common sense, their bid, and prayer for me. Today the builders came at 8:30, but earlier I had been reading the Bible and Johnathan Cahn’s “The Book of Mysteries” on the Angelic Measuring Rod. In Ezekiel 40 ‘He had a vision of a man who appeared like brass with a line of flax and a measuring rod in his hand as hemeasured the wall outside the house and also the porch, the posts, the arches’. How about that..how the Lord has Angels with measuring vessels used to rebuild the Temple and Jerusalem ! Now my deck does not compare but I felt like those two builders while measuring every board before installation were a beautiful angelic picture of God’s plan of precise measurements not only for the deck, but in me personally. God has given us a building plan through His Word, but it is up to us to pay heed to the diagram by using His Measuring Rod. My prayer is that I will follow God’s plans in my life by using His measuring rod for solid stable construction.. Rev. 11:l .”There was given a reed like a rod; and the angel stood, saying Rise and Measure the temple of God and the altar and those that worship there” Any of you have some dry rot in your life that needs replacing by the LIVING GOD ?
The word #Christian gets thrown around a lot these days. Some use it as a #putdown others wear it like a #shield. Is it the opposite of #atheist? Does it depend on where you were born or to which family? Are you a Christian because you joined a church or got baptized? What does the Bible say about true followers of Jesus Christ? How can imperfect people claim to be like Jesus? If Christ died for everyone, why isn’t everyone saved? Can you miss Heaven by 18 inches? We call Jesus, Lord and Savior. Many want Him as Savior but hesitate to make Him Lord. Can you do enough good deeds to get into Heaven? Does a Christian do good deeds? Why?

In times like these, how do you know the #WILL of #GOD? With all the #political bickering saying ‘he said or she said’ about unconfirmed statements concerning our established heads of state, we need to turn to God and His Word for clarity. 1Peter 2:13-17″Submit yourselves to every regulation of man for the King, as supreme; or governors, …..for so is the WILL OF GOD that with well doing you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: as free not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as servants of God. Honor all men -Love brotherhood – Fear God – Honor the king.” We need to hope and wait according to Romans 8:24-27 “The Spirit of God helps our infirmities: we do not know what we should pray, but the Spirit makes intercession for the saints according to THE WILL OF GOD with groaning which cannot be uttered .” Today we have fighting and wars among our leaders yet James 4 tells us “Do you think scripture is in vain when it says – The spirit that is in us lusts because of envy?…Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He shall lift you up….There is one lawgiver who is able to save and to destroy….What is your life? It is a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes. We ought to say, ‘IF THE LORD WILL, WE SHALL LIVE” I am brought back to life’s brevity when I hear Hal Lindsey close his broadcast with this phrase, “God willing I will see you next week” Paul wrote in Galatians 1:3,4 “Grace and peace to you from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ who gave himself for our sins that He might deliver us from this present evil world according to THE WILL OF GOD OUR FATHER.”
Do you feel #invisible? Does it feel like nobody #cares? Are you #lonely? This is a story about a woman in the Bible who showed faith in the right one and it changed her life. This woman was weakened by twelve years of a chronic debilitating illness. You may be able to relate to that now or as you age you will be able to understand later. But, either way there is a lesson here for all of us. Besides being at her wit’s end medically, what else was involved in her suffering and isolation making her a nobody in the eyes of society? She heard about Jesus and what did she do about it? While we are not saved by what we do, is there any effort that we must expend to receive the gift of Salvation? After being healed, Christ asked her to come forward, recognizing her as a somebody. Why?
