How’s you’re house? After two major hurricanes slammed the U.S. with devastating wind and rain many structures are destroyed. Here in the heart of the south, the song was resounding “The night the lights went out in Georgia!” Schools are closed all week after downed power lines from falling trees have to be removed and lines restored. So many homes, businesses, and streets are covered with debri from the storms’ destruction which have people working around the clock to restore liveability! I was without power for thirty hours using flash lights while trying to connect the the small generator to the refrigerator (thankful my son-in-law did it and saved the frozen food) My ordeal included downed tree limbs, loss of power, security, and the internet; however, many others have total devastation which cannot be patched only replaced. Does the Bible tell us anything about the house of GOD? Ps.27:4,5 “For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that I will seek after; that I MAY DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE”,... I know when the wind and rain were howling around my dwelling, I was in prayer before my Savior Jesus Christ asking for His covering. Yes, I had a builder that constructed a strong home, but I know the master builder. Heb. 3:4 “For every house is built by some man; but He that built all things is GOD.” Through darkness and disaster Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me. IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE ARE MANY MANSIONS: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you….I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John4:1-3,6 “JESUS SAID, I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE: NO MAN COMES UNO THE FATHER, BUT BY ME.” My prayer for all those suffering from the storms is that you may have the peace that passes understanding through trusting our LIVING LORD.
