THE LIVING GOD – GIVEN

There has been such an out pouring of giving by so many individuals to those who have lost their homes and possessions from the devastation caused by the flooding and hurricane! God’s Holy Word, the Bible, records in Luke 6:36,38 “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. GIVE AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU” We have seen God’s presence through the lives of many rescuers, volunteers, and donations in the midst of the storm all along the Gulf coast. “For GOD HAS NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND.” 11Tim.1;7 GOD has given us life and the ability to make our own choices while pursuing happiness in this world. Do those decisions include the LORD? 1Corth.3:10,11″We are laborers together with God, you are God’s building. According to the grace of God which God gave me as a wise master builder, I (Paul) have laid the foundation and another builds thereon, but let every man take heed how he builds for other foundation can no man lay than that who is Jesus Christ..14.If any man’s work abide which he has built (on Jesus foundation) he shall receive a reward.” In John 14:27 Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, MY PEACE I GIVE UNTO YOU; not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” 1Tim.6:17 “Charge those that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but trust in the LIVING GOD, WHO GIVES US RICHLY ALL THINGS TO ENJOY, THEY THAT DO GOOD WORKS READY TO DISTRIBUTE WILLING; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life”

THE LIVING GOD – REFUGE

#Flooding, #disaster, #chaos, and the #unknown are surrounding the people of #Texas caused by the #hurricane #Harvey. I go back four generations that have lived, worked, and died in that Texas dirt and even had #refuge in a panhandle dugout; therefore, I’ve heard stories of their courage and tenacity to survive through words shared by my loved ones. My great grandfather was a Baptist preacher in the rural Texas panhandle in 1870’s -1930; and as a child in 1940’s, I would receive hugs and words of joy from those that had known and appreciated him and the family all those years ago. I lived with Texans who taught me (as a girl scout) safe survival skills and how to give others a helping hand. As I’ve watched the TV coverage of the disastrous flooding around Houston and I can see the Texas overcoming spirit imparting a spirit of faith in THE ALMIGHTY. I think Texans have shown the world what it means to have faith in God and to care about your fellowman. God’s Holy Word is as true today in 2017 as it was in 1870. Ps.71 “IN THEE, O LORD I HAVE TAKEN REFUGE, let me never be confused. In Thy righteousness deliver me, and rescue me; incline thine ear unto me, and save me. Be thou my strong habitation where I may continually resort: Thou has given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked. Out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man for Thou art my hope….for THOU ART MY STRONG REFUGE.“

THE LIVING GOD – COUNSEL

Has #life got you down? Do you need #counsel for living a life filled with purpose not just an existence filled with momentary thrills? #Children, #teens, #young adults, #newly weds, #families, and #seniors all have special needs to cope with daily #struggles. I observe TV, movies, and internet suppling minds with all manner of exciteo toxins which pass for entertainment to escape reality. All of us make choices everyday that determine the direction that our lives take, but who or what are you choosing to mold your thought process? From whom do you get direction? Will you listen to anyone? I do not waste my time on many individuals so impressed by their personal opinions and what they call their right to do and act any way they choose. I prefer to listen and observe the guidance of the LORD through His Word. Is.28:14 “Hear the word of the LORD, you scornful men” 26.”God instructs him to act properly and teaches him.” 29,”This comes from the LORD of hosts, who is WONDERFUL IN COUNSEL” Need help in knowing truth from lies? Seek the Living God. Matt.7:7″Ask and it shall be given unto you” “Ps. 33:10-11 “The LORD brings the counsel of the heathen to nothing He makes the devices of these people of none effect. THE COUNSEL OF THE LORD STANDS FOREVER AND THE THOUGHTS OF HIS HEART TO ALL GENERATIONS. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.” May we turn to the Living God, Jesus Christ for our salvation and follow His example and counsel for living now and eternally with Him.

THE LIVING GOD’S – SUN & SONS

#ECLIPSE is the word heard on every newscast and streaming over the internet. The U.S. will see the eclipse of the sun by the moon this Monday. What a magnificent showing of God’s creation and timing for the days and hours are in His hands. We know He controls the sun when we read Is.38:7,8 “This will be a sign to you from the LORD that the LORD will do the thing He has spoken: ‘I will cause the shadow on the stairway …to go back ten steps.” The Living GOD is in control of His creation! Luke 21:25-27 Jesus said, “There will be signs in the SUN, MOON, and STARS, and upon the EARTH with dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the things which are coming upon the world for the powers of the heavens will be shaken and then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY. When these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Get ready..pay attention to words in Matthew 5:44,45 that Jesus spoke, “I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you in order that YOU MAY BE SONS OF YOUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN; FOR HE CAUSES HIS SUN TO RISE ON THE EVIL AND THE GOOD, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” 14:43 “Then the RIGHTEOUS WILL SHINE FORTH AS THE SUN IN THE KINGDOM OF THEIR FATHER. He who has ears, let him hear.”

THE LIVING GOD -AUTHORITY

Is #authority acknowledged in today’s society? For all those living in #North Korea, there is no doubt that they tremble in fear of their dictator’s #power over their existence! I have observed that many U.S. citizens have rebelled against anyone in a place of authority whether it is a parent, teacher, church, police, or our president. I can tell you after WWll there was respect for life and order and orders. Today I hear people yelling and claimoring look at me-me-me to tell the world what I want or deserve all the while never listening or obeying orders. Every man does what is right in his own eyes and does not want anyone telling him “no”. Lawyers have become their scapegoats by finding a loophole in our laws which will allow the law breakers to continue their injustice on society. Does mankind need authority? I say, “Yes, we all need to stop, look, and listen to the Divine – Ultimate – Omnipotent Authority” Mark 4:24 “Jesus said to them, ‘Take care what you listen to..” Col.2:8-10 “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men after the principles of the world, and not after Christ, for in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and YOU ARE COMPLETE IN HIM, WHO IS THE HEAD OF ALL RULE, AUTHORITY, AND POWER.” Matt.7:29 “JESUS TAUGHT THEM AS ONE HAVING AUTHORITY”

THE LIVING GOD – KNOWS

Do you need #help? Where do you turn for #direction? – #Siri? #Alexa? When someone wants to know ‘how to’ achieve a #goal today, I have observed everyone clicking onto the internet for the #knowledge needed to complete the task at hand. Computers have made information and resources readily available at our fingertips. With this empowerment of knowledge are we better or bitter? I see our world raging with entitlement from self superiority! “No one tells me what to do or how to do it” is coming through loud and clear in my ear from a society rebelling against the all knowing God’s directions. If you want to be a know it all then go to the One Who Knows It All. “Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogance come out of your mouth: for the LORD IS A GOD OF KNOWLEDGE, and BY HIM ACTIONS ARE WEIGHED.” 1Sam2:3 If a computer can tract your actions, how about GOD’S surveillance? “GOD KNOWS THE SECRETS OF THE HEART”Ps.44:21 “THE LORD KNOWS THE DAYS OF THE UPRIGHT” Ps.37:18 As a child about eight years in age, I thought my father knew everything. So after he answered a question which stumped me, I was feeling my oats and said, “I guess when I graduate from college you will still be smarter than me.” He didn’t correct my grammar from me to I, but just gave me a big smile! I wonder if our heavenly Father just smiles at us when we think we can surpass His Knowledge? My prayer is that I will listen and follow God’s instruction through His Word for Jesus said, “MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, and I KNOW THEM, AND THEY FOLLOW ME.” John 10:27

THE LIVING GOD – POWER

#Power is appreciated by all whether the source is through #electricity, #water, #wind, #sun, #machines, or #man. I see ads for products to promote powerful bodies or to get you to buy their power drink. Switch the channel and the commercial is showing you that car with the most horsepower. I can remember when scientists split the atom enabling the atomic bomb; however, we didn’t stop there! Later America was sending men into space (without the internet) and they had to splash down in the ocean upon re-entry! Today we have computers that are pushing the envelope in all avenues of life, but have we overlooked the true power source? Open your eyes to happenings around you…Acts 1:7″It is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father has put in His own power” Power is in God’s control. Do you rely on the power company constantly? How about GOD? “Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the POWER OF GOD” ICorth.2:5 For us personally and eternally, God’s power is demonstrated through Christ’s death on the cross and His resurrection. “preaching of the CROSS is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved IT IS THE POWER OF GOD” 1Corth.1:18 Paul instructs us of God’s might in Eph.1:19 “WHAT IS THE EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER TO US-WARD WHO BELIEVE, ACCORDING TO THE WORKING OF HIS MIGHTY POWER, WHICH HE WROUGHT IN CHRIST WHEN HE RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, AND SET HIM AT HIS OWN RIGHT HAND IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES FAR ABOVE ALL PRINCIPALITY, AND POWER, AND MIGHT, AND DOMINION AND EVERY NAME THAT IS NAMED NOT ONLY IN THIS WORLD, BUT ALSO IN THAT WHICH IS TO COME.” “Christ was crucified through weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. We also are weak like him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you” 11Corth.13:4 It is written in Matthew 28:18 “JESUS CAME AND SAID, ALL POWER IS GIVEN UNTO ME IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH” I trust in His Everlasting Arms!

THE LIVING GOD #SEND

As a #teenager that just received your #driver’s license, did your parents send you to the #grocery store for a forgotten item needed for dinner – or was it for that Dairy Queen treat? That was the scenario in our family. As a loving parent, I was trying to demonstrate that privileges and maturity come with responsibilities. My children and grandchildren are all adults now and I can see how God our Father has sent them all on various paths in their lives. When I was 15, God touched my heart to follow His directions for my life’s path one sunset evening at Glorietta Assembly just outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Several outstanding Christian speakers were expressing the need to have a purposeful direction for one’s life. As I was focused on my life’s direction and choices before me, there was a magnificent presentation of Jesus words in John 20:21. I knew I wanted God to send me in His path and use me wherever He placed me to share His love . Through the years I have been in many places – physically and mentally – My God has never forsaken me! I answered His call to follow, to tell and to show God’s abiding love wherever . So far it has been in my home, church, school, work, community, hospitals, shut-ins, jails, resorts, cities from coast to coast, on buses, trains, planes and cars, by personal speaking on TV, film, video, & now this internet site has reached people in over 140 countries. “Jesus said, Peace be unto you: as MY FATHER HAS SENT ME, EVEN SO SEND I YOU” When I was that young lady with a desire to follow wherever God sent me, now I am a 80 yr. old woman by God’s grace who still wants to be where God leads. Ps.92 “The righteous shall flourish…they shall still bring forth fruit in old age..to show that the LORD is upright.”
