The Joy of Jesus – Serenity In Your Communication – Privately

What does your #InternalMonologue sound like?  Guaranteed, whatever you are saying to yourself in #private is spilling over into your words to others.  That doesn’t have to be a negative statement.  Here in Philippians, Paul tells his audience to ‘rejoice in the Lord always.’  If we were to do that continuously, what would be the effect on our conversations?  Of course you have to have a personal relationship with the Lord of the Universe to have a reason to praise Him perpetually.  How do you get that?  Go to our Gift link on the homepage of FindBibleTruth.com as i always say at the bottom of these messages.  Is this prosperity Gospel?  Did Paul write this from a place of opulence and comfort?

The Joy of Jesus – Serenity In Congregation – Through Unity

Around the world right now, we are seeing strife and division with #protests, #looting, and #riots.  Many want to #StandUp and be seen as #oppressed.  In this message, we see Paul writing from his wrongful imprisonment not lamenting his situation, but rather encouraging the church at Philippi to unite around one another.  Stability in the Lord produces what?  The enemy’s common trick is to inflate our sense of being right while blinding us to the view from the other side.  How can we counter this by ‘being of the same mind’ of Christ?  That’s even better than seeing the other person’s point of view.  Why does Paul request a third person to help with this dispute between two ladies in the church?

The Joy of Jesus – Serenity In Congregation – Through Stability

As churches begin #regathering, we can find stability by congregating with other believers.  Whether it is online worship, zoom meetings with small groups, or limited #socialdistance in person services, we can all draw strength from other Christ followers.  What kind of relationship should we expect to form when we join together with other Christians?  Did Paul have any reason to believe that he would be accepted by the church he zealously persecuted?  If you have ever missed a couple of meetings in a row, you should have felt a longing to be back with your family.  If you have stopped attending altogether, you may not even remember what it is you are missing.  What does Paul mean by his joy and future crown?  What can we learn from Roman soldiers about standing firm?  Since we can’t run around in Roman armor, how are we to stabilize our Christian stance?

The Joy of Jesus – Looking For The Lord – Who Will Change?

These days most people want to #change your mind.  #Jesus Christ promised to change more than that now and when He returns.  For now, when you come to a saving knowledge and relationship with the Lord your mind will be renewed.  When Christ returns He will give His followers a new body, too.  Do we know when that will be?  What will a new body involve?  Why will that be necessary?  What examples did Jesus give us with His new body after resurrection?

The Joy of Jesus – Looking For The Lord – Who Will Come?

When you think ahead to the inevitable end of this #life, do you feel #scared, #anxious, #confused, or #excited?  Christians have something to look forward to at the end of this life.  Not in the sense that they can’t wait, but that there is a reward at the end of the race.  Paul wrote to the church at Philippi, who were Roman citizens, to remind them that they were also citizens of an even better place.  Where should our focus be?  We look forward to the return of the Savior.  How should we prepare?  Who is the Savior, is it a politician, a celebrity, or a current leader?  What will be different about Jesus when He returns in the fullness of God?  Is it possible to be so heavenly minded that you’re of no earthly good?

The Joy of Jesus – Walking in Wisdom – Forsake The False

20051204 Joy Of Jesus - Walking In Wisdom - Forsake The False - Rev. Tommy Jones

If the #Gospel is #truth, and it is, enemies of the Gospel must be #false.  What are Christians to do with false prophets, #FakeNews, anything-goes #politicians and those who side with them, and #intellectuals who think they know better?  Paul was warning the Philippians about groups in their culture just like these.  Were they members of the church?  Were they Christians?  Is there a difference?  What will be their ultimate reward?  These three groups would say that they have nothing in common, but they do.  Besides their opposition to Jesus Christ and His work on the cross, they all have the same focus.  When Paul says their glory is in their shame, does it sound like the identity politics that is growing in popularity everyday?  Ok, so we should not follow the false, but is there still some interaction we are commanded to do?

The Joy of Jesus – Walking in Wisdom – Follow The True

Where can we find the #truth in these days of #MyTruth and #FakeNews?  That is exactly why we labeled this website Find Bible Truth.  So, if the Bible, God’s Word, is the ultimate source of truth whom then should we follow?  Oh, but you say, ‘I don’t follow anybody.’  The Bible says in Deuteronomy 24:15 we all follow someone or something when it says, ‘choose this day whom you will serve.’  Paul tells us and the Philippians whom to follow or mimic.  How can we find Christian examples to imitate without being judgmental?  It has something to do with fruit.  As an example, and none of us can avoid it, what kind of impression are you making?  What is the best Bible translation?

The Joy of Jesus – Pointing To Perfection – Continuously

Bible Audio Blog
20051120 Joy Of Jesus - Pointing To Perfection - Continuously - Rev. Tommy Jones

Do you know anybody who thinks they are #perfect?  Ironically, #Christian maturity comes with a growing realization of our own imperfection.  Without knowledge of our flaws, how can we grow?  Rather than an excuse to not even try, this should be a call to action.  Our road to perfection starts with a decision.  What comes next?  When we are moving whether it is walking, running, or driving we tend to move in the direction we are looking.  Where should our eyes be focused?
