#Past, #present, and #future appearing of #JesusChrist – what do they have in common?  How about mountains?  That resonated with Bear, because he loved mountains.  What office did each of these appearances represent?  Was Christ’s first appearing a secret or was it prophesied throughout the Bible?  Why did He come the first time?  What is the ‘yes or no’ answer demanded by His first appearance.  What does the second appearing of Christ mean for those who call Him Lord?  What is He doing right now?  How does that differ from the way He will appear next?  What are some things Christ followers can look forward to about this third appearing?

19800910 ROR - As Encouragement To Ethics - Tactical Considerations - Develop Your Conclusions - Rev. Tommy Jones

This week, we are wrapping up Brother Tommy’s series on #ethics, Biblical vs. non-biblical.  A personal #conviction is after all a conclusion you have made ahead of time based on your ethics.  Where should these convictions come from?  What if it is something that is not specifically prohibited in the Bible?  Should you persuade others to agree with your convictions?  Are negatives always necessary?  What is one sure way to make sure that you are making the right ethical decisions both negative and positive?  What are the three questions you can use to make ethical decisions?  What are adopted convictions?  How do you start forming your own conclusions?

Next week:  a brand new topic

Sexual Nature

Bible Audio Blog
19800625 ROR - As Encouragement To Ethics - Tangible Considerations - Of A Sexual Nature - Rev. Tommy Jones

Is #sex a good or bad thing?  Why did #God create sex?  How can it be misused and what are the dangers of that?  What are five different views on sex and from where did they come?  Is there a distinction that can be made between fornication and adultery?  What does the Bible say about sex inside and outside of marriage?  How about sex that is not between male and female within a marriage?  Now, before you argue that this message was delivered 47 years ago, remember that the scriptures listed herein come from the unchanging Word of God, the Bible.  Why did God place restrictions on this particular aspect of the human experience?  What are some of the dangers of non-biblical views on sexuality?  Is there anything wrong with hedonism, birth control, abortion, homosexuality, or masturbation?  What is the biblical prescription for properly aligning our sexual nature?

Next week we will start to look at what the Bible says about tangible ethics of an habitual nature.
